MU falls to Mississippi State

COLUMBIA - The Missouri Tigers dropped a 9-7 decision to the Mississippi State Bulldogs in the finale of a three-game Southeastern Conference series Sunday at Taylor Stadium.

The Tigers led 7-3 after six innings before the Bulldogs scored single runs in the seventh and eighth and two in the ninth to tie it.

Peter Fairbanks took the loss for Missouri, allowing two runs on two hits and two walks in 22/3 innings. Eric Anderson was the starter for the Tigers, allowing three runs on six hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings.

Logan Pearson had four hits and scored twice for Missouri, while John Lester added two hits and two runs scored. Dylan Kelly, Dillon Everett and Ryan Howard all drove in two runs each.

Missouri (17-21 overall, 6-12 SEC) is back in action at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Wichita State at Kauffman Stadium.
