Wildcats ride bat, arm of Mantle to title

IBERIA — Ryan Mantle allowed one hit and struck out 11 in five innings as the Linn Wildcats claimed an 8-1 win against Iberia in the championship game of the Iberia Tournament on Saturday night.

Mantle also had two hits, including a solo home run, and drove in two runs to lead Linn at the plate.

Tony Mebruer had three hits, tallied an RBI and also pitched the final two innings for the Wildcats. Blake Snyder and Jacob Voss both had RBI hits, while Daulton Niederhelm added two hits.

Linn (7-2) will play at Russellville at 5 p.m. today.
