Student named star farmer

EUGENE, Mo. - Trent Kempker recently was named the FFA Area 8 Star Farmer and a Star State Farmer Candidate.

Along with Kempker, other Cole County R-5 School FFA members receiving the FFA Degree were Steven Bax, Cameron Massman and Samantha Suess.

Eugene students receiving Area 8 Proficiency Awards and advancing to the state competition were Kempker in diversified livestock production, Koby Limbach in swine production placement, Leslie Wrinkles in horticulture placement, Alee Koetting in dairy production placement and Suess in food processing ownership.

Nolan Wunderlich received second place in turf management.

The Eugene team, which placed third at the Lincoln University competition, included Kemker, Limbach, Cameron Massman and Koetting.

Those who placed third at FFA Ag Issues and will advance to the district competition are Allison Isenberg, Chelsea Hammond, Bailey Clark, Breanna Kempker and Kassidy Schilpp.
