William Woods sweeps softball twinbill

For second straight day

FULTON - William Woods won both ends of a doubleheader Tuesday from Hannibal-LaGrange.

MacKenzie Bowden (Jefferson City High School) tossed a three-hitter and struck out six in the first game as William Woods posted a 9-0 win.

Shelby LeCuru (Helias High School) drove in three runs in the victory.

Lindsey LeCuru (Helias) had two hits and drove in two runs in the second game, a 5-0 William Woods (21-14) victory.

William Woods swept a doubleheader Monday from St. Louis College of Pharmacy in St. Louis.

William Woods won the first game 12-0 in five innings as Hillary Hentges (Helias High School) hit her first home run of the season and finished with two RBI. Shelby LeCuru had three hits, scored two runs and drove in two others. Hannah Campbell (Russellville High School) scored a pair of runs.

William Woods won the second game 17-0 in five innings. Lindsey LeCuru had two hits, one a home run, and drove in four runs. Brittany Bexten (Linn High School) had two hits and scored three runs for the winners, while Brailee Schulte (Jefferson City High School) added two hits to a 19-hit attack.

Katelyn Huhn (Fatima High School) pitched a combined eight innings of relief for the St. Louis College of Pharmacy in the doubleheader.
