Rams' Reid arrested

VALDOSTA, Ga. (AP) - Police in south Georgia say St. Louis Rams rookie cornerback Greg Reid has been arrested on a probation violation.

Lt. Aaron Kirk says 23-year-old Reid was a passenger Saturday afternoon in a car that was stopped because the driver wasn't wearing a seat belt.

Kirk says an officer learned that Reid had previously been charged with misdemeanor marijuana possession. Authorities say Reid was wanted for failing to check in with probation officials and pay fines associated with the charges.

Valdosta City Jail officials say Reid is still being held. It's unclear if he has an attorney and jail officials say they are unsure whether his bond had been set.

The Florida State graduate was recruited from Lowndes County high school in Valdosta.

A Rams spokesman says the team has no comment.
