Helias JV takes second

The Helias JV volleyball team went 5-1 to take second place at the Jefferson City Junior Varsity Tournament on Saturday.

During pool play, the Lady Crusaders defeated Hickman 25-15, 25-11; stopped Rock Bridge 25-14, 25-13; and downed Cole Camp 25-9, 25-21.

In tournament play, Helias beat Eldon 25-13, 25-3; got past Rock Bridge 27-25, 25-13; and then lost to Jefferson City 16-25, 25-17, 20-25 in the championship match.

Megan Brown had 27 digs, 18 service points and 15 kills during the tournament for Helias. Andi Gladbach had 34 service points and 24 assists for the Lady Crusaders, Suzie Kuensting had 13 kills and five blocks, Courtney Hilke added 14 kills, Heidi Strobel contributed 20 assists and Jazmine Luebbert recorded 46 digs.

The Lady Crusaders are now 11-1.
