Helias rolls to victories in volleyball

WAYNESVILLE - The Helias Lady Crusaders opened the season by romping to wins over Waynesville in varsity, JV and freshman action Tuesday night.

In the varsity match, Helias steamrolled to a 25-13, 25-10 victory.

Ashley Dudenhoeffer had 17 service points, 14 assists and seven digs in the win. Laura Schieber added 11 service points, Anna Murphy had 10 blocks and five kills, Tori Wiley had five kills and three blocks and Molly Sandbothe had four kills and four blocks. Blake Berhorst and Maddie Dunkmann had eight digs each.

In the JV match, Helias cruised to a 25-12, 25-12 win.

Megan Brown had five kills and 10 digs for the Lady Crusaders, Suzie Kuensting had six kills and three blocks, Lexy Lamb had six assists and seven service points, and Heidi Strobel had five assists and eight service points.

The Lady Crusaders won the freshman match 25-3, 25-11. Laura Vanderfeltz had 13 service points and seven digs for Helias, Abby Shepard had seven service points and seven assists, and Maddie Neuner had five kills.

Helias will host Lebanon on Thursday.
