Camdenton golf course planning resort

CAMDENTON, Mo. (AP) - The Old Kinderhook golf course near the Lake of the Ozarks is planning a destination resort.

The proposed development would include an 84-room Lodge, an indoor pool, marinas, an ice rink and a conference center.

Bob Renken, executive director of Old Kinderhook in Camdenton, says the development is designed to bring visitors to Kinderhook throughout the year. Currently, visitors generally visit only when the lake and golf course are open.

KYTV reports (http://bit.ly/1bFzQqe ) the new resort would add to several new additions to the lake including a new grocery store, more shopping centers and a new movie theater that will open soon.

The new Lodge will create about two dozen new jobs. Developers hope to have it open a year from now.
