NEWBURG, Mo. - The St. Elizabeth Lady Hornets are district champions.
Top-seeded St. Elizabeth beat No. 2 seed Newburg 3-1 in the Class 1 District 6 Tournament title game Friday night.
Regan Wilde picked up the win, allowing one run on five hits with seven strikeouts and two walks. She also went 2-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and a run scored.
Megan Kemna went 2-for-2 adn Kayla Helton went 2-for-3 with an RBI.
St. Elizabeth (16-8) awaits the winner of today's Class 1 District 6 title game between Montrose and Macks Creek. The Lady Hornets will play on the road either way Wednesday.
