The 2013 softball season was one to remember.

Thirteen area individuals were named to all-state teams picked by the Missouri Fastpitch Coaches Association.

Nine of those were first-team selections, while four found their way onto the second team.

Blair Oaks, which finished second in Class 3 with a 25-5 record, placed a whopping four players on the first team.

Seniors Sara Jones and LeeAnn Polowy were picks at outfield and utility player, respectively, while junior Jolie Duffner and sophomore Payton Staggs were picks at infield and pitcher.

Tipton senior Madi Norman — a University of Louisville signee — was a first-team pitcher in Class 2, while South Callaway senior Karli Leeper and Fatima sophomore Sammey Bunch were first-team infielders.

St. Elizabeth had a pair of Class 1 first-teamers in senior infielder Savannah Stiles and junior catcher Emma Kemna.

Helias senior Paige Bange — a University of Missouri recruit — earned second-team honors in Class 4.

South Callaway, after finishing second in Class 2 at 24-5, had three more second-teamers in senior pitcher Abby Bartley, junior catcher Anna Bartley and senior infielder Bailey Ward.
