Ex-Mo. lawmaker fined for campaign materials

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A former Missouri House member and her campaign consultant have been fined $6,000 each for campaign materials mailed during last year's election.

Former Rep. Eileen McGeoghegan, of St. Ann, and consultant Rory Riddler signed consent orders Oct. 31 with the Missouri Ethics Commission agreeing to the facts against them.

The Ethics Commission says McGeoghegan and Riddler paid for two fliers critical of her Democratic primary opponent, Rep. Mary Nichols of Maryland Heights. The commission said the fliers contained wording claiming they were paid for by Mary White, a relative of McGeoghegan who lives in Texas.

The commission says McGeoghegan and Riddler also provided false information to Ethics Commission investigator.

An attorney for McGeoghegan told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that she made mistakes and has moved on with her life.
