JC man receives probation in child abuse case

A Jefferson City man has been placed on five years supervised probation for pleading guilty to abuse or neglect of a child in Osage County.

Cody Kimbrough, 21, must also complete a 120-day shock detention sentence in the Osage County Jail.

Court documents show the neglect occurred at a residence in Linn from January to February.

The female child, who was 7 weeks old at the time, was found to have suffered several broken ribs and had broken both of her legs.

All of the girl's injuries were consistent with rough, abusive and neglectful handling while Kimbrough cared for the child.
