Fulton firm to expand DOC hatchery
Wednesday, May 15, 2013
A Fulton company recently was awarded its first project with the Missouri Department of Conservation.
Schlacks was the low bidder for the expansion of the department’s hatchery building at the Blind Pony Fish Hatchery north of Sweet Springs in Saline County.
The bid was $633,000.
Conservation officials said the building is 40 years old and this project will expand and modernize the facility.
This is a warm-water hatchery, breeding such species as the Paddlefish.
Work should start this summer and the company has about about six months to finish the project.
