William Woods falls at national tournament

CLINTON, Miss. — William Woods couldn’t get its offense going and dropped its NAIA Tournament opener to Belhaven (Miss.) on Monday.

MacKenzie Bowden (Jefferson City HIgh School) allowed just two runs (both in the fourth) on seven hits in six innings. But it wasn’t enough as William Woods mustered just two hits against Belhaven starter Katy Adair, one of them by Lindsey LeCuru (Helias High School).

Play continues Tuesday in the double-elimination regional portion of the tournament.
