Your Opinion: Solution extends cause of problem

Dear Editor:

There are many positive things to say about Jefferson City High School but a few negative.

First, JCHS is below the state average for MAPP scores in Algebra I, English II, biology, geometry and government. Second, JCHS is above the state average in drop-out rate.

Historically, these shortcomings have been blamed on the claim that JCHS is too large and these problems will be resolved when we build the second high school.

On April 2 we are being asked to sell JCHS and build an even larger high school. Go figure.
