WICHITA, Kan. - The Jefferson City Post 5 Juniors went 1-1 in action Sunday at the Wichita State Classic.
Post 5 opened with an 8-0 loss to the Kansas City Mets. Post 5 struggled in the field in the contest, committing five errors, while leaving eight runners on base.
Post 5 rebounded with a 6-3 victory against the Kansas City Elite. Burke Brant was the winner, working the first 61â„3 innings. Alec Verhoff got the final two outs.
Verhoff had three hits and two RBI in the win, while Logan Vogel had two hits and drove in two runs.
Post 5 (10-3) is off until the Blue Springs Legion Wood Bat Tournament on July 4th weekend.
