MONTREAL (AP) - Felipe Martins and Marco Di Vaio scored in the first half and the Montreal Impact beat the Houston Dynamo 2-0 Wednesday night.
The Eastern Conference-leading Impact (9-3-2) improved to 6-0-1 at Saputo Stadium and won a fourth in a row at home in MLS play.
Houston (6-5-4) fell to 0-3-2 in its last five matches.
The Impact created chance after chance in the first half before switching to a more defensive approach against a Dynamo team missing some key players.
Houston's Boniek Garcia (Honduras) and Brad Davis (United States) missed the game while playing for their national teams.
FIRE 2, RAPIDS 1
BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (AP) - Mike Magee scored on a penalty kick and Austin Berry headed in the tiebreaker in the opening minutes of the second half to lead Chicago.
Magee tied the score in the 23rd minute with his fifth goal in five matches - three in MLS play and two in the U.S. Open Cup - and Berry got the winning score in the second minute after halftime for the Fire (4-7-3).
Jamie Castrillon opened the scoring when he stripped the ball from Berry in Chicago's half of the field and scored on goalkeeper Sean Johnson on a 22-yard blast in the 17th minute to put Colorado (5-6-5) ahead. The Rapids lost their second straight and extended their winless stretch to 0-2-1.
WHITECAPS 3, CHIVAS USA 1
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Camilo scored two goals and assisted on the other Vancouver goal as the Whitecaps beat Chivas USA.
Jordan Harvey scored the winner for the Whitecaps (6-5-4), who overcame an early deficit to win their second straight - getting consecutive wins for the first time since the first two games of the season.
Tristan Bowen scored in the seventh minute for Chivas (3-9-2), which has not won since beating Vancouver at home on March 30.
Camilo and Harvey scored two minutes apart in first half stoppage time to give the Whitecaps a 2-1 lead. Camilo extended Vancouver's lead to 3-1 in the 81st minute.
GALAXY 0, TIMBERS 0
CARSON, Calif. (AP) - Robbie Keane hit the right post and Landon Donovan had three opportunities inside the Portland box as the Los Angeles Galaxy settled for a scoreless draw with the Timbers.
Portland (6-1-9) extended its unbeaten streak to 14 matches with its third shutout in the last four.
Los Angeles (6-6-3) had conceded eight goals in its previous two matches - losses at New England and Real Salt Lake.
Keane's glancing header in the 55th minute, which bounced through the goalmouth and off the right post, was the best scoring chance in a game that featured superb ball movement through midfield by both teams but little effective penetration and scarce opportunities to break the deadlock.
