JCTV blames council broadcast woes on Mediacom gear

JCTV viewers may have noticed an issue with programming when the station broadcasts City Council meetings.

For the past few weeks, the broadcasts out of City Hall have been difficult to watch, with the picture flickering in and out. City officials say the issue lies with Mediacom equipment within City Hall, as JCTV has no signal issues for programming outside City Hall.

City officials have said Mediacom has been reluctant to address the issue and the city plans to press the issue further with the company. Until that happens, city officials say the broadcasts out of City Hall are likely to remain choppy at best, though online streaming of the meetings has been unaffected.
