JC men charged with jewelry theft in burglary

Two Jefferson City men have been charged with breaking into a Cole County home in June and stealing jewelry.

Eric Davis, 22, and Aaron Boehm, 33, both of 7504 Helias Spur, are each charged with one count of second-degree burglary.

A Cole County Sheriff's Department probable cause statement shows the crime took place at a residence in the 4000 block of Route CC.

A neighbor saw a vehicle at the residence where the break-in occurred and saw one man going in while another stood by outside on the lookout. It was later determined that Davis and Boehm were the two that the neighbor saw.

Deputies obtained a search warrant for Davis and Boehm's residence and found the items that had been stolen.

Boehm did admit to going into the residence and taking the items that were reported stolen. He also admitted to burying the stolen items in his yard and that Davis was with him at the time of the crime.

Boehm has also been charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

During the serving of the search warrant, deputies found a small amount of methamphetamine, a digital scale, along with several small baggies commonly used to package methamphetamine for sale.
