Eldon's Independence Day parade made its way through town on Saturday, kicking off the city's all-day 15th Annual Fourth of July Celebration.
The parade left its starting point at 2nd and Pine at 10 a.m. Floats included Eldon's VFW Post 2442; the Eldon Area Chamber of Commerce's president, Erik Svoboda; Citizen of the Year Willard Haley; Volunteer of the Year Bob Toalson; and Eldon Teacher of the Year Melody Hannah, among others.
Before the parade, the annual 5K run/walk began at 7:30 a.m. Vendors set up at the Eldon Model Airpark from the afternoon into the evening. The evening's entertainment, sponsored by Central Bank, included a performance by the Jason McGhay Band and a patriotic sky diving display.
And, as always, the celebration culminated at dusk with a fireworks display sponsored by Citizen's Bank.
