Woman eulogizes husband, sons who died on Mo. hike

WATERLOO, Ill. (AP) - The widow of a man who died with two of their young sons during a Missouri hike told fellow mourners that she grapples for words but that her family knew she loved them.

Sarah Decareaux (DEHK'-ah-roh) of Millstadt, Ill., choked back tears while addressing those who gathered Friday for the funeral of 36-year-old David Decareaux, 10-year-old Dominic Decareaux and 8-year-old Grant Decareaux.

The three went missing last Saturday during a hike on the Ozark Trail in southeast Missouri's Reynolds County. They were wearing only light clothing when they set out, but temperatures rapidly dropped as that day wore on and heavy rainfall pounded the area.

Authorities say the family members died from hypothermia.

Sara Decareaux says she knows her husband and sons are resting in peace and are together.
