WACO, Texas (AP) - Brittney Griner scored the game's first five points and finished with 23 as Baylor led throughout in its first game since taking back the No. 1 spot, defeating 25th-ranked Iowa State 67-39 on Wednesday night.

Griner already had 11 points as Baylor (13-1, 3-0 Big 12) jumped out to a 16-3 lead in just over 8 minutes.

The Lady Bears set a Big 12 record with their 25th consecutive conference victory, breaking a tie with Oklahoma (24 in a row from March 2005-January 2007). Baylor has won 48 games in a row overall at home, the longest active winning streak.

Nikki Moody had 11 points for Iowa State (11-2, 2-1), which had won its first two Big 12 games for the first time in eight seasons, had 15 of its 24 turnovers by halftime.

No. 3 CONNECTICUT 75, GEORGETOWN 48

WASHINGTON (AP) - Kelly Faris scored 15 points and Connecticut survived a round of sloppy-ball, bouncing back from a rare conference-opening loss to beat Georgetown in a game that included 45 turnovers.

Faris also had five steals and four assists and four turnovers on a night when the ball flew everywhere except where it was supposed to. It hardly mattered as far as the outcome, with the Huskies overmatched talent-wise against for a Big East foe they have beaten 28 consecutive times.

Stefanie Dolson added 13 points and seven turnovers, Breanna Stewart had 12 points and 13 rebounds, and Bria Hartley scored 12 points for UConn (13-1, 1-1), which fell out of the No. 1 spot in the rankings after a one-point loss to Notre Dame on Saturday.

Sugar Rodgers had 23 points and five turnovers for the Hoyas (10-5, 1-1), who haven't beaten the Huskies since 1993.

No. 16 OKLAHOMA 85, TCU 79

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) - Aaryn Ellenberg scored 26 points and Joanna McFarland had 24 points and 11 rebounds Wednesday night to lead Oklahoma to a victory over TCU.

Morgan Hook had 13 points and 12 assists. Her three-point play with 1:33 to play put the Sooners (13-2, 3-0 Big 12) ahead 79-77, and they maintained the lead after that.

Ellenberg was 6 of 15 from behind the 3-point line, accounting for all but one of Oklahoma's long-range baskets. The Sooners shot 49 percent from the field.

Natalie Ventress led TCU (7-7, 0-3) with 27 points. Zahna Medley had 11 points and 13 assists for the Horned Frogs, who led 44-39 at halftime.
