Lady Crusaders overcome slow start in win against Notre Dame

The Helias Lady Crusaders needed to step it up before it was too late.

Sure, it was just the end of the first quarter Saturday afternoon at Rackers Fieldhouse, but the Lady Crusaders didn't look good in falling behind 17-7 to the Notre Dame de Sion Storm.

"We were missing some shots that we should have hit," Helias coach Doug Light said. "And we were making a few mistakes we shouldn't make. We just needed to calm down or it was going to get out of reach."

That never happened. The Lady Crusaders responded in the second quarter to cut the deficit to one at intermission, then pulled away in the second half for a 49-42 victory against the Storm.
