Higgins added to Sports Hall inductees

Add one more inductee to the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame class to be inducted April 14 in Jefferson City.
Denny Higgins, a Jefferson City native who went on to pitch for four Major League teams, will go in with the previous announced inductees.
Higgins broke into the Major League with the Chicago White Sox in 1966 and also pitched for the Washington Senators, Cleveland Indians and St. Louis Cardinals. He retired in 1972 with a record of 22-23 in 241 games, finishing with a 3.41 ERA, 339 strikeouts and 46 saves.
Other previously announced inductees include Tony Galbreath, Joe Crede, Phil Bradley, Bob Burchard, Dennis and Roberta Licklider, Ray Hentges, Dr. Chris Leslie, Keith Weber, the Helias wrestling program and the Lincoln track and field program.
In addition, Pete Adkins will be named as the Hall’s 25th Missouri Sports Legend,
The enshrinement ceremony will be held at the Capitol Plaza Hotel.
