Moniteau County patrol vehicle crashes

The Missouri Highway Patrol investigated a Friday night accident involving a Moniteau Sheriff’s Department vehicle.

Patrol reports show 38-yearold Michael Ward, California, was traveling in emergency mode with lights and sirens when he lost control of a Chevrolet Silverado on a gravel-covered curve on Lake Imhoff Road, just west of Quentin Drive in Moniteau County. The vehicle traveled off the right side of the road and struck a tree at about 11:20 p.m.

A passenger in the vehicle, Justin Nichols, 37, sustained minor injuries. Nichols was transported to Capital Region Medical Center, treated and released.

Both men were wearing seat belts when the crash occurred.

A Hartsburg teen was treated for moderate injuries after a two-vehicle accident early Saturday morning.

According to Highway Patrol reports, Brooke Gibson, 18, was traveling westbound on US 50 around Marina Road at 12:11 a.m. Saturday. She had one passenger. A Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Michael Dixon, 52, of Jefferson City, crossed the median and failed to yield to oncoming traffic, causing Gibson’s Chevrolet Cavalier to collide with the Silverado.

A passenger in Gibson’s vehicle, 16-year-old Elizabeth Williams of Hartsburg, suffered moderate injuries, was treated at St. Mary’s Health Center in Jefferson City and then released.

She and Dixon were not wearing seat belts.

Dixon was arrested on several charges, including second degree assault by means of vehicular intoxication and failure to yield. He was being held in the Cole County Jail.

A St. Louis man sustained minor injuries in a one-vehicle accident that occurred Friday at 3:55 p.m. in Cole County.

Patrol reports show Gary Cannamore, 21, was traveling northbound on Route B when his Toyota Corolla traveled off the left side of the road and struck the median just south of Christy Drive.

Cannamore was wearing a seat belt. He sustained minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
