Lady Falcons climb to No. 3 in state basketball rankings

The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons climbed to No. 3 in the latest Class 3 state basketball rankings.

The Lady Falcons, coming off a title in the Southern Boone Classic, are 18-2 heading into Thursday night’s game at Eldon. Both of Blair Oaks’ losses are to top-ranked St. James.

Chamois is the only other girls area team in the rankings. The Lady Pirates hold down the No. 10 spot in Class 1.

Two other girls squads — Helias in Class 4 and St. Elizabeth in Class 1 — are receiving votes in their respective classes.

On the boys side, the Fatima Comets are now No. 4 in the Class 3 rankings. Fatima also captured team honors last week at the Southern Boone Classic to improve to 20-1.

Southern Boone is receiving votes in the Class 3 rankings. And although they’re a Class 3 school, the Eugene Eagles are receiving votes in the Class 2 poll.
