Central Methodist sweeps

JACKSONVILLE, Ill. — The Central Methodist men’s and women’s track and field teams each won the Jim Green Invitational hosted by Illinois College on Saturday.

The men’s squad took first after earning 121.5 points, narrowly holding off Lincoln (Ill.) by 1.5 points. The women’s team won with a total of 121 points.

Helping the men’s team to the win was Bryan Lechner (South Callaway High School), who was second in the long jump (21-5 1/4), fifth in the 60-meter hurdles (8.75) and eighth in the 200-meter dash (23.71).
