Boys Basketball: Helias takes fifth

SHAWNEE MISSION, Kan. — Helias comes home happy.

The Crusaders defeated Shawnee Mission North 66-61 in the fifth-place game of the Sportscare Public vs. Private Shootout on Saturday afternoon.

Helias took a 17-12 lead after one frame, extended the advantage to 33-25 at halftime and carried a 45-37 edge into the final stanza.

Isiah Sykes paces the Crusaders with 25 points. Hale Hentges added 15 points while only playing about 15 minutes.

Helias (3-1) hosts Branson on Friday.
