Three killed in Mid-Mo accident

Three area residents were killed in a two-vehicle wreck Saturday evening in Miller County.

Ashley M. Burns, 29, Linn Creek; Kenneth D. Crockett, 52, Eldon; and Tammy J. Luttrell, 55, Iberia, were pronounced dead less than two hours after the 6:15 p.m. wreck.

The patrol said Burns was driving eastbound on Missouri 42, about .3 miles west of Hawken Cemetery Road. Crockett was driving westbound. Burns failed to drive on the right half of the road, causing her vehicle to cross the center of the road and strike the vehicle driven by Crockett head-on.

None of the three was wearing a seat belt, the patrol said.

Benjamin L. Beard, 23, was seriously injured in a one-vehicle wreck early Sunday morning in Miller County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said he was eastbound on Route V, about 1 miles east of U.S. 54 when he crossed the center of the road at about 1:30 a.m. His vehicle went off the right side of the road and overturned.

Beard, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital.

Two Stover residents had minor injuries in a one-vehicle wreck early Sunday morning in Morgan County.

Maxon and passenger Tiffany M. Koeller, 26, were taken to Lake Regional Hospital. Neither were wearing seat belts.
