Columbia College vice president retiring

The vice president for adult higher education at Columbia College has announced his resignation.

David "Mike" Randerson's retirement will be effective Jan. 31, 2014.

For nearly 18 years, Randerson has been in charge of adult higher education at the college. During his tenure, the college has seen tremendous growth with its nationwide and online offerings educating more than 30,000 students annually.

Randerson will remain on the presidential search committee.

Dr. Gary Massey, current dean for adult higher education, has been appointed interim vice president, effective Feb. 1, 2014. Once a new president is in place, a search for a permanent vice president will begin.

Columbia College has more than 30 campuses across the country, including one in Jefferson City.
