Body found in pond ID'd as missing Kansas City man

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A body found submerged in a pond northeast of Kansas City has been positively identified as a 20-year-old Kansas City man who had been missing for more than two weeks.

The Kansas City Star (http://bit.ly/19K7hf4 ) reports the Clay County Sheriff's office announced Wednesday the body had been confirmed as Robert Seth Walter, who was last seen Aug. 3 in Kansas City. A couple spotted his car in the pond Sunday and contacted authorities.

His family posted a note on Facebook thanking everyone who helped search for Walter and saying it appeared he had been in an automobile accident.

His parents initially suspected foul play because he had just been promoted at his job, had a college scholarship and was planning to move into a loft.
