Linn second, Russellville third in district golf

LINN CREEK — The Linn Wildcats and Russellville Indians are moving on to sectionals.

Linn took second place in the Class 1 District 2 Tournament on Monday at Deer Chase.

The Wildcats shot a 383 and were led by Zach Kucsik, who tied for medalist honors. He shot an 84.

Other finishers for Linn included Bryce Kliethermes (ninth, 92), Mackenzie Wilson (17th, 103), Aaron Parkhurst (22nd, 108) and Alex Luebbert (34th, 126).

Despite finishing third, the Indians qualify as a team because four individuals finished among the top 15 who were not on the top two teams.

Chandler Wolf tied for medalist honors with an 84. Other Indian qualifiers included Devin Koestener (13th, 97), Levi Anderson and Clayton Harrison (22nd, 108).

Thayer took first place with a 345.
