StartUp Jeff City will host the first of two fast pitch events this weekend. The Spring Fast Pitch Competition is set for 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Capital Event Center, 623 Ohio St.
The event is free and seating is limited.
Participants will pitch their business idea in three minutes or less for a chance to win a share of the $2,000 prize money.
Those "pitching" their idea should include five key elements in regards to the proposed business idea - clarity, credibility, purpose, realism, contagious passion.
A second pitch event will be held at an undetermined date in October. Entrepreneurs will have a chance at a share of the $5,000 prize.
