Missouri adds transfer
Wednesday, April 17, 2013
The Missouri basketball team has added junior college transfer Keanau Post to its roster.
Post, who averaged 12.3 points and 8.3 rebounds per game last season at Southwest College (Ill.), will be eligible to play immediately.
“We are excited to be adding Keanau to the program,” Missouri coach Frank Haith said in a release. “Obviously he fills a big need for us inside and gives us depth at the center position. There’s no question that Keanau’s best basketball is ahead of him. He has really matured as a player over the last few seasons and he has the potential to be a significant contributor as his career progresses.”
Post, a native of British Columbia, was a second-team All-American last year and was ranked as the No. 3 junior college prospect according to Rivals. He shot 54.4 percent from the floor and averaged 1.9 blocks per game.
Post joins Wes Clark, Torren Jones and Jonathan Williams III as members of Missouri’s recruiting class.
Former Tiger guard Negus Webster-Chan has reportedly found a landing spot at Hawaii. According to the Honolulu Star Advertiser, Webster-Chan will suit up for the Warriors. He will have to sit out the 2013-14 season.
He averaged 2.5 points in 15 minutes per game for the Tigers last season. Webster-Chan, originally from Ontario, cited being able to play closer to home as one of his reasons for transferring.
Guard Dominique Bull, who also is transferring, has not announced where he will play.
