Lincoln Dance Troupe to perform "Connecting'

The next performance of the Lincoln University Dance Troupe will feature a number of musical genres.

"Connecting" will be performed Friday through Sunday at Richardson Fine Arts Center/Mitchell Auditorium on the Jefferson City campus.

"There will be a variety of dance styles that will connect everybody, not just with dance and music, but with stories, relationships," Theressa Ferguson, artistic director of the dance troupe, said. "The performances will connect all those things together."

There will be 12 students involved in the production, three are returning and nine are new to the program. LaBradford Davis will be doing his senior performance piece, and Ferguson will perform with him. The guest dancer is Brittanie Larry, who performed with the troupe in the 2000s.

This is a free event for the public. The Friday and Saturday shows will each begin at 8:15 p.m. The Sunday show starts at 2:15 p.m.

"This is a show that people will talk about with music and props people will enjoy," Ferguson said.
