Fatima sweeps Show-Me meet

LINN, Mo. — The Fatima Comets and Lady Comets swept team honors Tuesday in the Show-Me Conference championships.

On the boys side, the Comets won seven events and totaled 185.5 points to top the eight-team field. Zach Woods was a double-winner for Fatima, taking first in the shot put and discus.

There were two other double-winners in boys events. Tyler Rush of Linn was first in the 1,600- and 3,200-meter runs, while Garrett Crouse of Eugene took the top spot in the 110- and 300-meter hurdles.

The Lady Comets won just two events — Katie Eichholz in the 100-meter hurdles and the 4x800-meter relay — but used great depth to take team honors with 172.2 points.

Taylor Howard of South Callaway was a triple winner on the girls side, taking first in the 100- and 400-meter dashes as well as the pole vault. The Lady Bulldogs were second in the team standings with 155 points.
