Not guilty verdict in JC murder trial May 6, 2016

Jays 7, Hickman 2

The Jefferson City Jays swept the three doubles matches Monday in taking a 7-2 decision from the Hickman Kewpies at Washington Park.

The team of Sam Johnson and David Clausen were 6-3, 6-1 winners. The duo of David Steinmeyer and Isaac Roling won 4-6, 6-3 (10-5 tiebreaker), while Spencer Bone and Dalton Doyle teamed up for a 6-2, 6-3 victory.

Singles winners for the Jays included Johnson (6-0, 6-1), Clausen (6-3, 5-7, 10-2 tiebreaker), Bone (6-1, 6-1) and Roling (6-0, 6-1). Falling were Steinmeyer (6-2, 3-6, 6-10 tiebreaker) and Rex Michitsch (2-6, 2-6).

Jefferson City (4-2) is back in action Thursday at Sedalia Smith-Cotton.
