TORONTO (AP) - Darel Russell capped a remarkable comeback with a goal in the 90th minute, giving Toronto a 2-2 draw with Dallas on Saturday.
Russell hammered a right-footed shot from just outside the penalty box off the post and in to beat goalie Raul Fernandez. It was redemption for the English fullback, who was blamed for both Los Angeles goals in a 2-2 draw last weekend.
Substitute Justin Braun set up the equalizer after scoring one himself minutes earlier to start the comeback. The big forward, in his Toronto debut, headed the ball in from close range in the 85th after defender Matt Hedges failed to clear the ball.
Andrew Jacobson and Blaz Perez scored for Dallas, which had won three straight.
COLUMBUS CREW 1, PHILADELPHIA UNION 1
COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Dominic Oduro scored in the 72nd minute to help Columbus draw against Philadelphia.
Oduro took a pass from Eddie Gaven and struck a rising ball that sneaked inside the right post for his second goal, countering a 34th-minute goal by Jack McInerney.
McInerney received a pass by Danny Cruz from the right flank after the Union beat the offside trap for a two-man break. McInerney scored his third goal into an open net after goalkeeper Andy Gruenebaum came out to challenge.
COLORADO RAPIDS 1, REAL SALT LAKE 0
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (AP) - Clint Irwin saved a first-half penalty, allowing Atiba Harris' goal in the fifth minute to stand as the winner as Colorado notched its first win of the season.
Edson Buddle set up the score by sneaking a pass between defenders in the penalty box and straight to a wide-open Harris.
A few minutes later, Irwin stopped a penalty by Alvaro Saborio to preserve the lead for the Rapids. Irwin has taken over in net for Matt Pickens, who's sidelined with a broken arm.
PORTLAND TIMBERS 2, HOUSTON DYNAMO 0
PORTLAND, Oregon (AP) - Ryan Johnson scored twice to lead Portland to its first win of the season.
Johnson, a forward acquired from Toronto in the offseason, scored goals in the 55th and 73rd minutes as the Timbers came alive in the second half to beat the Dynamo for the first time in their three-year history. Portland had lost the previous three matches.
SAN JOSE EARTHQUAKES 1, VANCOUVER WHITECAPS 1
SANTA CLARA, California (AP) - Corey Hertzog took advantage of a temporary two-man advantage to score his first MLS goal, rallying Vancouver to a draw against San Jose.
Hertzog picked up a deflected shot from teammate Daigo Kobayashi and slotted home a shot from 9 yards in the 62nd minute, as San Jose defender Victor Bernardez and forward Alan Gordon stood on the sideline. They had left the field roughly 90 seconds earlier to change their boots on a slick night at Buck Shaw Stadium, and referee Fotis Bazakos did not permit them to re-enter until after Hertzog had scored.
Chris Wondolowski tallied in the 18th minute for San Jose.
