Man charged in shooting of 4-year-old

ST. LOUIS (AP) - A St. Louis County man is facing charges in a drive-by shooting that injured a 4-year-old girl.

The shooting happened Thursday night in St. Louis city. The girl survived the shooting.

Authorities say 23-year-old Nathaniel Pool of Ferguson is charged with six counts of first-degree assault and seven counts of armed criminal action. Pool has previous convictions for gun and drug law violations.

Investigators say Pool shot into a group of people from a passing car. One bullet hit the girl in the shoulder while she and her mother walked up the steps of a home. Police say she was not the intended target.
