New women’s group defends Akin in Mo. Senate race
Wednesday, September 19, 2012
CHESTERFIELD, Mo. (AP) — Republican Senate candidate Todd Akin is gaining support from some women who believe he has been unfairly judged.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports (http://tiny.cc/afxvkw ) that about 300 people gathered Tuesday night for an event sponsored by a new group called Women Standing with Todd Akin. The group describes itself as a “statewide, grass-roots effort.” Akin has repeatedly apologized for saying last month that women’s bodies can avoid pregnancy in cases of what he called “legitimate rape.”
Democrats have cited Akin’s remarks as part of what they describe as a “war on women” by Republicans.
Heather Kesselring, of St. Louis, was one of the speakers at Tuesday’s event. She said Akin is standing up against the real “war on women,” which she described as pornography, sex trafficking and abortion.

Anyone has the freedom to do what they want, but the only reason I'd stand behind Akin is to kick him in the azz.

Wow, just Wow. How can any man or woman support this person that doesn't have the sense to realize that what they said isn't possible.

It's politics, and reality is only one option. Let's just say that there are plenty of people out there for whom abortion is the only issue and Todd Akin is a strong opponenet of abortion.
From the article "... one of the speakers at Tuesday’s event. ... said Akin is standing up against the real “war on women,” which she described as p o r n o graphy, sex trafficking and abortion."
"P o r n o graphy, sex trafficking, and abortion". Need I say more?

Ted Kennedy started the war on women. Mary Jo Kopechne could not be reached for comment.
