The Jefferson City Council approved the 2013 budget Monday after spending more than one month working to balance the numbers.
At its meeting Monday, the council approved the more than $31 million budget by a vote of 8-1 with 3rd Ward Councilman Bryan Pope casting the only “no” vote. Fourth Ward Councilwoman Carrie Carroll was not present at Monday’s meeting.
“I appreciate the public’s interest in the budget process,” Second Ward Councilman and Finance Committee Chair Shawn Schulte said.
