JCPS to observe late start Wednesday

The Jefferson City Public Schools will have its first late start Wednesday.

All schools will start two hours later than usual; the district will use the two-hour morning timespan for staff professional development and to study student data.

The schools' doors will open at their regular time, but buses will run regular routes two hours later than usual. If parents need to bring their children to school before classes begin, district staff have been assigned to monitor structured study sessions.

Also, breakfast will be available to students.
