Redshirt freshman QB guides Tigers to victory

COLUMBIA, Mo. — Despite practicing with the starting offense for the last two days and being told there was a chance he’d start against the Arizona State Sun Devils, Missouri redshirt freshman quarterback Corbin Berkstresser swore up and down he didn’t know if he’d be getting the start.

Even when the starting lineups were announced and junior quarterback James Franklin’s name and image came across the video board?

“Game-time decision,” Berkstresser said with a grin.

The last-minute possible wait didn’t affect Berkstresser too much it seems. The redshirt guided the Tigers to a 24-7 third-quarter lead, a lead that stuck as Missouri upended the Sun Devils 24-20 Saturday night at Faurot Field.
