Work on old jail sallyport advances

Later this month, Cole County could seek bids for work to improve the sallyport at the old Cole County Jail, behind the courthouse.

At Wednesday’s County Commission meeting, officials with Architects Alliance gave commissioners drawings of the proposed project.

The estimated construction budget would be $244,450.
