Jefferson City authorities responded to a medical alarm Monday morning at an apartment at 12 Jackson St.
The victim's friend pulled the alarm when he was unable to wake her.
Upon arrival, first responders found an unresponsive 20-year-old Jefferson City woman in her apartment.
EMS and Jefferson City Fire Department personnel attempted to revive her, but their efforts were unsuccessful.
The investigation, at this point, has not revealed obvious signs of foul play. The victim's name is being withheld pending notification of relatives.
An autopsy has been ordered, and the investigation will continue.
