WARDSVILLE - With a new quarterback in the starting lineup for the first time all year - a freshman quarterback, no less - the game plan for the Blair Oaks Falcons was going to be simple: Hand the ball off to the running backs.
So when the Falcons got the ball for the first time in Thursday night's Class 2 District 6 game with Tolton/Calvary, the first play from scrimmage was no surprise. And on some level, neither was the result of that play.
Quarterback Jordan Hair handed the ball off to senior running back Eli Roberts, who took it and raced 36 yards for a touchdown. It was the start of a commanding performance for the top-seeded Falcons, who ripped the outmanned Trailblazers 68-13.
