The Helias Lady Crusaders made a run to the Class 4 basketball quarterfinals last season.

And while getting at least that far this season is a big goal, there’s a lot of time between tonight’s season-opener and early March.

“We’re not looking that far ahead,” Helias coach Doug Light said as the Lady Crusaders prepared for tonight’s game at Union. “Every season is different. Obviously, making a run in the playoffs is always your goal, but when we got off to a slow start last year, I don’t think anyone looked at us as a quarterfinal team.

“We want to prepare ourselves to make a postseason run, that’s our goal right now.”
