Eldon looks to advance vs. Monett
Saturday, November 10, 2012
Eldon has crashed the postseason party.
That’s if you go by their seed in the Class 3 District 3 Tournament, where the Mustangs were fourth. But here they are, still playing.
Eldon (8-4) faces Monett (9-3) in a Class 3 state quarterfinal game at 1:30 p.m. today on the road.
Eldon went 5-4 in the regular season before defeating Ava (12-7), Springfield Catholic (40-7) and School of the Osage (42-7) in the district portion of the state bracket. This will be just the Mustangs’ second quarterfinal appearance in school history, as they lost 35-0 to Oak Grove in the 1986 Class 3A quarterfinals.
