Mike Washburn is a librarian unlike what many people consider to be a typical librarian.

That is because as the automation librarian for Missouri River Regional Library, Washburn does little hands-on work with books themselves, but more with the technology that makes it possible for patrons to check out books. He also works with the library’s e-book classes and technology.
