Blair Oaks outscores Fatima to win district baseball crown

FULTON, Mo. — With Blair Oaks and Fatima both starting its aces on the mound, it was expected to be a low-scoring affair.

When Jacob Koelling and Patrick Schnieders combined to throw just 2 2/3 innings before being pulled, the slugfest was on. When the dust settled, the Falcons outlasted the Comets 11-8 to win the Class 3 District 8 title Wednesday.

“What everyone expected didn’t happen tonight,” Blair Oaks coach Harv Antle said.
